Providing quality education to disadvantaged students in Haiti.
MHI sponsors a private school in Cap-Haitien called "École Académie Solidarité" which employs 17 staff members and educates 186 Kindergarten-6th grade children.
The parents send their children here as an alternative to public school because the school doesn't charge tuition. The books are also at no cost to the parents, but the school still is in need of daily free lunches. The lack of food is a major challenge since the children walk long distances to school often without breakfast.

What is your favorite subject? My favorite subjects are experimental science and Creole.
How long does it take you to get to school? It is a about 3 hours walk.
What sport do you play? Volleyball
Tell me about your family. How many brothers and sisters do you have? My mom has six children, and she is responsible for all six.
What is your best memory of school? Why? My best memory was our tour to "Palais sans-soucis."
What do you do when you are not in school? I do not do anything besides school.
What do you plan to do during the summer? I want to go to a cosmetology course, but my mom does not have the possibility to send me.
